Description
This learning experience is a carry over lesson. Students are able to begin writing their newspaper articles on the school musical. Having this as a task creates an authentic experience for the students as firstly it has the opportunity to be placed in the school newspaper and two most of the students either participated or viewed the musical so it gives the task more meaning.

Differentiation
The literacy support assistant will be attending this lesson and will take the students she has been working with throughout this unit to either a separate room or to a group of desks where they are all in one area. This way students can daily ask questions and all students can here the answers as it may be something they would like clarified as well.

Lesson Objectives
- Use newspaper article plan to create newspaper article
- Create newspaper article using all the components and structures learnt.
Learning Experience Overview
- Pose questions as to what students were doing last lesson.
- Ask students to get out their plans from last lesson
- Ask students to tell the class who they interviewed and one question they asked and the interviewee's response.
- Explain in todays lesson students will be writing the newspaper article for the school newspaper about the musical.
- Recap by asking students to list the structure and features required in a newspaper.
- Give examples on the board of how the newspaper article could be started and some information that could be included.
- Before students return to seats explain that this is an individual task however if students need to clarify information with a peer that is fine and if they have any questions the teacher will be happy to answer them.
- Explain that they can also look back in their English books at activities we have done in previous lessons that might help if students get stuck when coming to write their article.
- Allow students to begin writing their newspaper articles.
- Focus attention on the students with low achievement level in English by asking what they are writing about and assist in any way possible.
- End lesson by gathering students to the floor and allowing students who have finished their work to present it to the class.
